"We asked Jack to perform with his violin for our intimate wedding ceremony. He was incredible. During our rehearsal we realized that we didn’t include a recessional song. Jack was able to improvise and add his own song on the violin which was perfect. The day before the wedding, Jack arrived to ensure that all of his equipment was good to go and he even was able to connect to our Sonos speakers. He took the time to place these speakers throughout our yard for optimal cocktail and dinner music. Through out the evening, Jack played all of our playlists and was able to mesh the old songs with the new to please guests of all ages. Guests came up to us and commented on how nice and “sweet” Jack was through out the evening. Jack was the perfect fit for our day!"

"As I am a musician, music played such a significant part of our wedding day. When we met Jack, we knew he would be the right person to DJ our wedding. He comes from a musical background, and we felt confident that he understood us and what we wanted to achieve. Jack was very communicative throughout the planning process. We had an initial zoom meeting so he could get to know us and we could ask questions. Then we had another meeting a few weeks beforehand to follow up on any questions on either side. In between, he shared some music playlist samples. We also had a lot of detailed requests, which didn’t faze him. He asked the appropriate questions to make sure he understood our needs. We felt like he really tried to build a relationship with us so we had a solid foundation going into our wedding day.
Jack oversaw the sound system and music at our ceremony, which included prelude, processional, unity candle, and recessional songs. This was the most important element for us, because I had developed a playlist of music composed by my deceased brother. Jack treated this with respect and dignity, and everything went well.
As we moved into the cocktail hour and dinner, Jack had a selection of music that kept the room active but didn’t overpower conversation. He even accommodated one of our toasters who asked for a specific song in the background of her speech.
Once we got to the dancing, the dance floor was alive! Jack provided colored uplighting that enhanced the space, as well as a motion lighting rig. Jack listened to our concerns of too many flashing lights and was able to tone it down. The music was right on point! Based on our previous conversations, he offered a wide variety of songs –from oldies to contemporary. Jack has a great ear for music and sensibility for reading the room, keeping people out dancing and sprinkling in the slow songs as needed. We had some do-not-plays, which he respected, and he was able to incorporate all of our specific requests to our guests’ delight.
As an MC, Jack helped us move our guests from space to space, gave directions as needed, and introduced the different activities from first dance to anniversary dance to special songs. He was engaging and kept our guests dancing without being intrusive.
Jack has a great, energetic personality. He was well-organized, prepared, and professional, and really seems to love what he does. We can’t recommend him enough!"

"When planning our wedding, and keeping in mind our fun, energetic, rockstar personalities, we were certain that we wanted to find vendors that matched those same traits. Being two brides we felt like we could think outside of the box to make our special day our own so we didn't necessarily make a normal checklist nor did we do things in order in the traditional sense. Our DJ was one of the last things for us to finalize! Music is very important to us, I still make my wife "mix tapes" with songs that hold a special meaning about us as a couple or as us as individuals. So when finding the perfect DJ for our wedding day we weren't going to settle! We actually had a live performer for part of our day, a friend of my wife's from high school, and he said "hey, I have this friend that I work with who is a great up and coming DJ and I think he would fit perfectly with you two!" Relying on his recommendation, we had a meeting with Jack and felt instantly comfortable with him and felt at ease with his confidence and also the fact that he wasn't afraid to ask a lot of questions to make sure our day was going to be perfect! Fast forward to our wedding day and Jack arrived looking dapper in his suit and had his DJ booth set up and ready with plenty of time to spare. The music he played was PERFECT for us and our personalities and there were always people on the dance floor because who could resist great music?! His lighting setup seemed to dance with each song, his wireless mic worked perfectly for speeches, he spoke perfectly when announcing us, he played a great mix of songs and was able to read the crowd to see seamlessly transition into another song to keep people moving and having fun! From start to finish, Jack was just an overall joy to work with! If you want a DJ who will definitely bring the fun and who has enough "pizzazz" to get the crowd involved then you need Jack Boatman Music Services! My wife and I couldn't be happier with our choice and we would pick Jack again in a heartbeat if we could do it all over again!"

"Jack was one of the best parts of our wedding. He met us a month or so beforehand to get a feel for our music tastes; what we wanted to play, what we didn’t want to play, etc. He took great care when asking about the song for our first dance; why did we pick it, when should the song start, when should he end it, etc. When it came time for the wedding Jack set up on time and was ready to go with all of his own equipment, even lighting. He kept things moving quickly during the dinner without making things feel rushed. Jack even went around to each table to make conversation and entertain before dismissing them. When it came time for my wife and I to have our first dance, we mentioned to Jack that we only wanted to dance to the first verse and chorus. But Jack let the song play on. He saw how much fun we were having, how we were enjoying our special moment together, and he let us enjoy it for as long as we could. At that moment the whole world melted away except for me and my wife. It was one of the best parts of our wedding, and we have Jack to thank for it. Jack really came into his own once everyone joined the dancefloor. He played the perfect mix for us and our guests. Punk rock, classic pop, emo anthems, heartfelt slow songs, guest requests, and even some of our favorite heavy metal tracks. Jack played the right song at the right time every single time. We still get compliments on Jack’s music selection. Do yourself a favor and hire Jack for your wedding. Don’t do it just because he has great music taste. Don’t do it because he’s a great entertainer. Don’t do it because he has his own gear. Hire Jack Boatman because he truly cares.
